Day Island Wall

Another round of photos from Kathryn at Day Island Wall in Tacoma.

I am still waiting for the day I see my first Wolf Eel underwater.
There's a good shot in there of Cory. He was my old dive buddy.

Hi Dale,

I'm pretty sure you're referring to this picture and the other couple that I have like it.

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the plaque found at the bottom of this picture, but I believe it labeled it as Fleishaker pool, although I'm not 100% on that. The pool that this picture is located is now closed so I can't check on it.

However, as you pointed out when I originally did research on this pool I too found that a lot of the pictures associated with it were of a large outdoor pool near a zoo. One of the days while I was hanging out in the lobby around where this picture was hung, and older lade came up to me and asked me about the picture. She told me that she had played in this pool as a young child and that it was located in San Francisco. She also told me that it had burned down.

So, with all that said, I'm afraid I can't help you figure out whether this is actually Fleishaker Pool or not. You're the only one to actually question it. It might not be.

This link said that it was simply filled-in in the 1980s.
