ok. so people are probably going to think that i'm weird, but on xmas eve, my parents went to bed kinda early. and me having nothing to do anymore, i wasnt about to, or going to be able to go to sleep then. so i went to whatever remains in my old room at their place and checked out my little cubby bookshelf thing. the thing that stuck out was the old bible that i was forced to buy for my new testament class back at westmont (because it contains the new testament apocrypha). anyway. i had intent on reading that, but instead i started at the begginning. yes, when god created the heavens and the earth.a couple things stuck out here. the first: god created day vs night after he separated the water from sky, ok, fine. but the man makes plants before he makes the sun! sure there is separation between day and night at this point, but no sun. this is a little akward anyway, cuz what the fuck made the day before the sun was there?

anyway. thats just being picky. the other thing was reading chapter to chapter.
what it seems happened (imho) is that whoever wrote the bible did so, but then probably priests that wanted to see additional material added to the story, something pertenant to
their day, instead of changing the text, they would just add another chapter to kinda recap and add whatever they wanted.

the retarded shit about this is that it sometimes contradicts each other. in the story of noah, the first telling says how the earth is inheritantly good, whereas the second part says how the world is evil and full of violence, with god being displeased. this one later goes on to tell the dimensions of the ark, where the other one doesn't.

so i can see why people wouldn't want to change the "sacred writings from the hand of god" and opt to add their own stuff, but apparently back in the day they didnt believe much in editors and to this day people blindly believe the discrepancies... probably since no one but priests and the like read the bible anymore. everyone who is a "believer" simply learns various bible verses that teach them a lesson, or learn past bible stories from those who have heard it before and has transformed from written form to oral form.

...the oral tradition is held... weird.
