Cove 2

Two people I've dove with in the past put together this short video of diving in Cove 2 at Alki, where I used to frequent almost weekly.
(The location is most of the way up Harbor Ave SW.)

Laura was the camerawoman, diving with Bones.
They come upon the small wreck of a tug named the Honey Bear. Notice how Bones enters and exits the wreck with his knees bent up. He uses primarily the twisting of his ankles and squeezing of his thighs to propel himself. This is a modified breast stroke kick (frog kick) to keep from stirring up the silt on the seabed.
This technique was "invented" by cave divers who found it necessary to keep the silt down if they wanted to see anything in the tight tubes in which they were traveling.

There's also a short shot of an undulating jellyfish.

Enjoy!
