More coming home weirdness
Another thing I remember that was commonplace in the field but seemed weird when we got home was when we were back at Denali headquarters and they put us up in C-Camp which were small cabins that held two people each.
Inside were two small rooms with beds and a shared kitchen and dining area.
Richie and I had used the stove to heat water for our oatmeal breakfast.
Once it had boiled and we had added it to our oatmeal we had some remaining.
Richie turns to me and says, "Good, let's save that water for our dishes."
I readily complied as we've been doing that all summer for every breakfast.
About a minute later it dawns on both of us that we don't need to use our boiling water for dishes, we have a tap in the sink in the kitchen that will produce hot water if one waits long enough. We both smacked our heads. It seemed like a good idea at the time until we realized we were back living the life of luxury.
